ABSTRACT
Pritchett (b. 1900), novelist, critic and director of the ‘New Statesman’, has been visiting professor at several British and American Universities. His extensive publications include ‘The Living Novel’ (1946), ‘Collected Stories’ (1956) and ‘Midnight Oil’ (1971), an account of his early years in Paris and London.
