ABSTRACT
The view that facts are things in the world corresponding to parts of thought and language has led to difficulties about whether there are any facts corresponding to statements involving words like ‘not’, ‘or’, ‘all’, ‘some’, ‘if’, since these statements seem
to be less directly about the world than are simple statements (cf. LOGICAL ATOMISM).
