ABSTRACT
Sir Harold Hobson (b. 1904) was Assistant Literary Editor of the ‘Sunday Times’, 1942–8, TV Critic of the ‘Listener’, 1947–51, and Drama Critic for the ‘Sunday Times’ from 1947 to 1976. In 1976 he became a member of the National Theatre Board. His books include ‘The Theatre Now’ (1953), ‘The French Theatre of Today’ (1953), ‘The French Theatre since 1830’ (1978), and ‘Indirect Journey’, an autobiography (1978).
