Cyril Connolly, Reluctantly Deploring Popularization, ‘New Statesman and Nation'

Sometime Literary Editor of the ‘Observer’ and regular Book Reviewer for the ‘Sunday Times’, Connolly edited ‘Horizon’ magazine from 1939 to 1950. He wrote one novel, ‘The Rock Pool’ (1935), and other books including ‘The Unquiet Grave’ (1944–5), ‘The Condemned Playground’ (1944), and ‘Enemies of Promise’ (1938).
