ABSTRACT

Janet Adam Smith (b. 1905) was Assistant Editor of the ‘Listener’, 1930–5; then Assistant Literary Editor, 1949–52, and Literary Editor, 1952–60, of the ‘New Statesman and Nation’. In 1935 she married Michael Roberts (see Nos 4, 15, 63, and 81). Her publications include ‘Poems of Tomorrow’ (ed. 1935), ‘R.L. Stevenson’ (1937), ‘Mountain Holidays’ (1946), ‘Collected Poems of Michael Roberts’ (ed., 1953), and ‘John Buchan and his World’ (1979).
