ABSTRACT

This book is written for A level students and undergraduates studying the making of policy in British central government. It provides a series of case studies of policy making by the civil service, ministers, the cabinet and its committees, parliament, the European Union, pressure groups and the courts. Most case studies are compiled from newspaper coverage, but some are drawn from official documents, academic studies and ministerial diaries.
