ABSTRACT

In risk assessment, we try to make some sort of realistic assessment of how likely it is that an event will occur and how severe the outcome would be if it actually came to pass. Events that are extremely likely and that would cause serious harm or loss are ‘high risk’. Events that are very unlikely and would cause very little harm or loss are ‘low risk’.
