ABSTRACT

Researchers are often constrained in their choice of method and this chapter opens by indicating the limits within which the research had to be undertaken. A general indication is then given of the scope of the research, and this is followed by a description of the actual survey methods (mail and telephone) that were used. A number of differences between the findings from the two different types of survey are noted, and a rationale is advanced for the approach that underpins the analyses in the succeeding chapters.
