ABSTRACT
As the TTA expectations for subject leaders emphasise, to be an effective coordinator it is essential that you have a strong grasp of the subject. A clear understanding of the central issues will help with the task of supporting others and developing the curriculum in school. This applies to all subjects but, in the case of English, the impact of subject knowledge is significant since English influences all the other subjects.
