ABSTRACT
In simple terms polymer oxidation is the reaction of a polymeric compound with oxygen dissolved in it; polymer oxidation is preceded by oxygen dissolution. The rate of oxidation of a thick polymer sample will therefore be limited by the diffusion of oxygen into the oxidizing sample of the reaction site.
