ABSTRACT
Oxidation is one of the main reasons for the failure of polymeric materials and articles. The oxidation of organic materials has been studied in much detail, both as regards the main parameters and mechanisms, in the investigations of the liquid-phase oxidation of hydrocarbons, aldehydes, and other low-molecular weight compounds. They are often used as models for investigations of polymer oxidation reactions.
