ABSTRACT
In 1980, choreographer Sara-Jo Berman and I founded Poyesis Genetica performance troupe, a fluctuating core of eight to ten artists from various disciplines and ethnic backgrounds, all studying at Cal-Arts. Poyesis was my first conscious attempt to make art in a culturally pluralistic, collaborative and interdisciplinary mode.
