ABSTRACT
Lung cancer is the cause of 12.8% of cancer cases and 17.8% of cancer deaths worldwide.1 The battle to change this dismal picture is ongoing on many fronts. The strategy and intensity of this struggle vary from country to country, but global initiatives are also emerging with different actions to eradicate tobacco and tobacco smoke.2
