ABSTRACT
Åse Aulie Michelet won the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of theYear Award for 2000 in Norway, wearing two hats at once. She is both president of Amersham Health AS in Norway and she is executive vice-president of the manufacturing and supply chain for Amersham Health globally. She has grown quite used to doing two jobs at the same time. As a medical researcher starting her career in pharmaceuticals over twenty years ago, her goal was simply to do research that resulted in ‘something good for people’. She completed a Masters Degree in Pharmacy at the University of Oslo, having started her studies at ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule) in Zürich. Initially she became a researcher at the University of Oslo and later at Nycomed, a family-owned pharmaceutical company at the time.
