ABSTRACT

In order to investigate the feasibility of the technique, it is applied to a fuel pump test bench and several experiments are run. The fuel pump to be tested is a No. 1 fuel pump. The injector is of needle nozzle type. The fuel line connecting the fuel pump with the injector is 2. 0 mm in diameter and 1 m in length. Three test pipes are designed and to be utilized in order to investigate the effect of the pipe length on the measurement. The test pipes are all made of copper, and 3 mm in diameter , 1 mm in wall thickness and 8 m, 4 m, 2 m in length respectively. The diameter of the restricting orifice is 0. 3mm. The pressure of the accumulator is set to about 2. 8MPa.
