ABSTRACT

This chapter describes several types of analyses that are useful for summarizing and displaying indicator data. Its purpose is not to prescribe the specific content of an annual report, but rather to set out some of the types of analyses that may be useful in a report, and to show how they can be displayed. The presentation is not prescriptive because the kind of report a district might prepare for internal use by teachers and administrators would probably differ substantially from one prepared for the school board, or for parents and the wider community. Also, a district might prepare separate reports for each school, and schools might prepare their own reports for district administrators, parents, or the school board.
