ABSTRACT
The following provisions are applicable to the use by LAs of all procedures dealt with in this chapter.
Local authority
The LAs for the purposes of these procedures are:
(a) district councils; (b) London borough councils; (c) the Common Council of the City of London; (d) in Wales, county and county borough councils (unitary authorities)
(sect. 219). This definition includes unitary authorities in England, i.e. district councils where there is no county and county councils where there is no district (Local Government Changes for England Regulations 1994).
