ABSTRACT

Description: Intron A is a recombinant human interferon alfa-2b (see also the monograph for the product Viraferon). The 19.3-kDa, single-chain nonglycosylated polypeptide is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Escherichia coli. It is presented in a lyophilized form (at strengths up to 30 million IU activity) containing human serum albumin and as an albumin-free solution in vials and cartridges to be used with multidose devices for subcutaneous or intravenous administration.
