ABSTRACT
The cranial nerves serve the major somatic and visceral functions of the head and neck.
Olfactory nerve
Anosmia. The major causes include high maxillary trauma with cribriform plate or naso-ethmoid fractures, chronic nasal mucosal inflammation and frontal lobe tumours. Hysterical anosmia is described.
