ABSTRACT
Local anaesthetic agents can be given parenterally, topically as creams, ointments, or as a eutectic mixture of local anaesthetic (EMLA), or to the airway mucosa by inhaled or nebulized aerosol. They can be mixed with steroids for intra-articular injection or with analgesic or general anaesthetic agents.
