ABSTRACT

The most difficult problem in hysterectomy is how to divide vessels, especially the uterine artery. Many surgeons therefore perform a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) to avoid the risk of hemorrhage from the uterine vessels. Gasless laparoscopy allows plenty of variation for the ligation of vessels. One can apply ligatures around the uterine vessel, and after applying a ligature contralaterally the uterine vessels can be divided.
