ABSTRACT

The requirements for materials and workmanship have been similar for many years, basically requiring that proper materials are to be used in a workmanlike manner. The 1991 Reg. 7 took account of the move towards European harmonization, and the amendment in the 1999 Reg. 7 (now incorporated in 2000 Reg. 7) no longer refers to product approval. Practice guidance on materials and workmanship is given in the 1999 Approved document relating to Reg. 7 and embracing European approvals.
