ABSTRACT
When Ettore Borghi phoned me for this interview I felt great emotion and confusion. There were various reasons for this, the first of which was the deep tie of affection and esteem connecting me to the interviewer. Ettore Borghi was in fact not only one of my city’s most sensitive and attentive councillors, he was also a philosopher and historian of genuine profundity and generosity.
