ABSTRACT
The romantic love myth promises that as long as you love each other everything will be fine. “Love is the essence of life” and “Love conquers all.” If there is love, how can there be conflict? Romantic love and conflict are incompatible. The problem lies with the concept of romantic love. One of the most important skills for a newly married couple is to recognize, address, and problem-solve differences and conflicts.
