ABSTRACT

A number of different professionals work with children and adolescents, such as educational psychologists, clinical and counselling psychologists, therapists, and teachers, who each have their own particular code of conduct, to reflect their distinct type of work. This chapter attempts to consider some common key strands and principles that are felt to have general applicability. In addition, we have decided to focus on some specific issues, rather than provide a comprehensive list for all situations and for all professionals. Consequently the reader is referred to detailed codes of conduct for a comprehensive review of the issues.
