Chief executive officers worth their salt appreciate that when they have missed their timing it is very difficult to throttle back. Therefore, they need a mechanism to supply answers to crucial questions in the most timely way. For example, what have we planned to do? Are we doing it? Is the last policy working? What’s our exposure? Do we have the financial resources to confront our challenges? CEOs need to answer these and other queries relating to competition, market penetration, pricing, cost structure, and profitability.
