Women’s necklaces were important; Bronze Age women finger them prominently in wall paintings. Polyneikes, son of OEDIPUS, obtains the necklace of Harmonia, daughter of APHRODITE and Ares, in order to bribe Eriphylê to urge her husband Amphiareus the seer to join his expedition against Thebes (cf. LUCIAN, Dial. meret. 5).
