After the establishment of the second triumvirate (37), Antony returned to Alexandria and married CLEOPATRA without DIVORCING Octavia (POLYGAMY); they had three children, Alexander, Ptolemy, and Cleopatra. After Octavian defeated Antony and Cleopatra at Actium (31) he pursued them to Alexandria. Before Octavian could enter the city, Antony committed suicide. After Cleopatra’s suicide, Octavian had both buried side by side; Octavia magnanimously raised their three children.
