ABSTRACT
Duodenal ulcers (DU) are more common in men, and are three times as common as gastric ulcers in patients below the age of 40. Most occur within the first 2 cm of the duodenum, and 95% are associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. See also ‘Helicobacter pylori’ (p. 145).
