ABSTRACT
Allergy may be defined as a state of altered reactivity to a particular substance which is mediated by an immunological response to that specific allergen or antigen. The reaction is usually reproducible. The substance causing the reaction may have been ingested, inhaled or come into contact with skin or mucous membranes.
