National Systems Versus Foreign Models in Management Education - The Norwegian Case

A central issue in the study of management education is the question of international standards versus national styles of management and systems of management education. While the general opinion in the decades following the Second World War was that management style and education in different countries developed towards the American model, many scholars today stress the differences between various national systems, and their ability to survive (Byrkjeflot 1993; Byrt 1989: 210; Handy et al. 1987; Lane 1989; Locke 1989; Nioche 1992).
