ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to examine the impact of business diversification strategy in Japanese firms on employment relations by looking at the experience of the chemical textile industry. The companies in the industry have reached an advanced stage of maturity and have therefore been actively diversifying into other lines of business. 1
