The second column shows that for laN /3 there is one optimum value of 9-but that a local optimum starts to errerge at the origin as the slope increases. For a range of values, as /3 increases there are the two possible optima and eventually, the origin becorres the global optimum. Then beyond sorre further point. the origin is the only optimum: there is a single maximum of u again.
