ABSTRACT
In this chapter I first set out my understanding of movement psychotherapy, then discuss the unique characteristics and techniques of movement and show how they can be used in practice.

The approach
My work as a psychotherapist is parallel to any other psychotherapy; the common thread is the use of the client’s relationship with the therapist to achieve various goals. Although I use words, images, and drawing, my focus is on movement and I use the term ‘movement psychotherapy’ to describe my work.
