ABSTRACT

Up to this point we have carefully examined the archetype on multiple levels. We have explored its relation to systems theory and the properties of living systems. We have looked at it as the organ of meaning and as providing the root elements of human experience. All of this has related to the biological and psychological levels of human experience.1 Insofar as our purpose is to outline an approach to sociology based upon Jung’s insights into the archetypal dynamic, we now turn to an overview of sociology.
