ABSTRACT

It is time for you to put the strategy of laddering into action. For the purposes of this exercise identify a habit or behaviour of a significant other that annoys or frustrates you. Where possible, identify a behaviour you know is likely to escape the attention of most others and where you could be accused of ‘over-reacting’. Once you have come up with this habit or behaviour place it at the bottom of the ladder next to Point 1. Ask yourself what is the opposite of this habit and place your response adjacent to Point 1 a. Now refer to the instructions for laddering and complete the exercise.
