ABSTRACT

This chapter will re-examine the role of physiologic factors that affect a drug’s absorption and the importance of bioavailability. Further, certain disease states necessitate additional vigilance in predicting food-drug interactions. Finally, this chapter will describe such interactions that may be manifest during nutritional supplementation either through enteral or parenteral feeding.
