INTRODUCTION
As with the other chapters in this section, we will deal with two distinct yet interrelated elements. The importance of international and global trade has increased dramatically; consequently it is clear that many firms will wish to develop operations strategies for this purpose. In addition organizations, no matter what their size or particular sector of trade, now understand the importance of operations strategies that recognize the role of other firms in their domain – the supply network.
