ABSTRACT
John Oakland is executive chairman of Oakland Consulting plc and was previously Professor of Total Quality Management and head of the European Centre for Total Quality Management at the University of Bradford Management Centre in the United Kingdom. Oakland is considered by many to be the British guru of quality. His practice is internationally based and he has provided substantial support to the development of quality in the United Kingdom, particularly to the quality initiatives of the government there.
