Note. Extracts from most of these manuscripts have been published at some time or another. In particular the editions of the Letter Books of Sir Samuel Luke by I.C.Philip (Oxfordshire Record Society 1950 and 1953) and by H.G.Tibbutt (HMC JP4, 1963), of the various papers of the Royalist Ordnance Department by I.Roy (Oxfordshire Record Society 1964 and 1975) and of the Worcester Chamber Order Book by Shelagh Bond (Worcestershire Historical Society 1974) are faultless. Likewise the much older Calendar Of State Papers is generally reliable. On the other hand the calendars of the papers of the committees for Compounding and the Advance Of Money are often misleading, while
