ABSTRACT

The earlier chapters of this book have explored some of the varied and complex forces which shape the built environment. They have also asked questions about the qualities which we as individuals and communities need for a satisfying life. This chapter looks for connections between the many forces at work, how they relate to diverse communities of interest, and how they may interrelate across different areas of knowledge. How can we interpret what is going on in different situations? How can we recognize the ways of influencing decision making and promoting positive outcomes from corporate and individual actions? This chapter will help to make links between some of the key considerations raised in the previous chapters.
