ABSTRACT

In this part of the book – as with all the others in the series – I present a sequence of practical exercises designed to offer both student and teacher a distilled, but nonetheless physical and somatic, experience of Lecoq’s teaching. In certain crucial ways this was the most challenging and difficult chapter to write, for it posed a number of awkward questions. For example:

• How can I attempt to capture the richness and complexity of Lecoq’s pedagogy – honed over fifty years – in one short chapter?
