The purpose of this book is to provide an outline of the concepts and frames that can be used to understand the character and consequences of environmental politics, in all its varied forms. In the course of explaining these concepts and frames, we aim to provide a broad outline of their development over time and in different part of the world, along with the often thorny debates that have formed around them. Environmental politics is at once a complex, ‘real-world’ phenomenon and a field of academic research and theorizing.
