ABSTRACT

Custom Motion Paths, and Cool Effects Once the creative juices start flowing, you’ll likely surprise yourself with all the animation ideas that will fill your head. Animation doesn’t have to be complicated to enrich the texture of a project or page. Just a little bit of motion can go a long way. One caution about interactive design and animation that demands careful consideration is this: before you fill your pages with gratuitous animations of all shapes and sizes, remember-just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. If a little is good, more is not necessarily better. A simple transition, maybe some title animation, possibly text that flies in or buttons that animate on rollover: all good. The truth of the matter is, animation for animation's sake can get old pretty quickly. Better to go for simple elegance over bells and whistles that jangle and clang. If your animation serves to engage and enhance, great. If it’s there simply because you thought it was cool, it may be best to think again.
