ABSTRACT

Export to Interactive PDF You may have noticed that whenever we’ve referred to PDF, we’ve used the term Interactive PDF as distinct from the term PDF. The primary reason for this is that InDesign has two separate PDF export dialogs-one for print and a second that’s dedicated expressly to Interactive PDF. Adobe’s choice to separate print from interactive PDF export is a good thing, particularly because the Interactive PDF export options are fewer and much simpler to navigate than those for print. As with print, export to Interactive PDF provides the choice of whether to output to spreads or individual pages. It also provides a range of compression options similar to those in the SWF export dialog. To access the Export to Interactive PDF dialog, go to File > Export and choose Adobe PDF (Interactive) from the Format dropdown at the bottom of the dialog.
