ABSTRACT
To value and evaluate is deeply rooted in our society. This may relate to whether we think it is worth travelling into town to go to an art gallery or whether we decide to purchase an annual subscription to a concert hall. This fundamentally economic approach permeates politicians’ thinking, as well as decisions on community initiatives that are often made after considering what value will be obtained from the investments made by society.
