ABSTRACT

What do learners with multi-sensory impairment (deafblindness) have in common? Impaired vision and hearing, certainly, but as case studies 1 and 2 below illustrate, they may share little else. Given this diversity, a chapter of this length cannot hope to offer a thorough overview. Instead, the aim is to present some aspects of current thinking on multi-sensory impairment in children. Sources offering more comprehensive accounts of this topic may be found in the References section at the end of this book.
