Siid! (d. 1006/1598) to be a quotation (ta!mln) from the Umayyad caliph-poet Yazid b. Mu'awiya (d. 64/683); and this statement has been accepted by most modern editors without question. But Mirza Mu};lammad QazvinI in an article contributed to the Tehran periodical Yadgtir (vol. I, no. 9, pp. 6?-78) argues cogently in rejection of the attribution.
