ABSTRACT
What do we know about the development of high-tech start-ups? In spite of the many contributions on this subject, both descriptive and prescriptive models have been widely criticized. Without rejecting the possibility of a global model that explains and predicts the development of high-tech start-ups (Tzokas et al. 2001), it is widely acknowledged that these models share some common disadvantages.
