ABSTRACT
France is becoming, for the first time in its history, and against its will, a true terre d’immigration for peoples of all races. However distressing many French find this transformation, and whatever problems and discomfort all parties are suffering along the way, a confluence of demographic and economic factors on both sides of the Mediterranean ensures that it will continue, as certainly as the disparities between the First and Third Worlds will increase and multiply.2
